I've been working pretty hard and went to bed around 12:30am. Around 2:00pm Mathieu call me 'cause he thought he had seen a spider running around on his bed. We looked for it, waking Sabrina in the process. And then... Both were too scared to fall asleep. I was back in bed at 4:30am, to get up around 6:15am...

Going to school I did some mathematics with Sabrina and I was happy to see that she was very good and very quick with divisions and multiplications. She also understand the concept really well. So I decided to test her on tables because she's a bit lacking there.
Me: 9 + 2
Sabrina: 11
Me: 12 - 7
Sabrina: 9
Me: no
Sabrina: 3
Me: no
Sabrina: 6
Me: no
five yells Mathieu, exasperated...
And another from Mathieu, Indiana Jones this time...

Congratulations to Sabrina
She got 33/35 in her dictée PGL and believes she's arrived third in class (to be confirmed). While she's not first like last year, she's still in the top three. Not bad for an English girl.
Scholastic
I'm a sucker for reading and mathematics when it comes to school. To encourage reading in English we buy books. Libraries here mostly have French books. The best deal to get is to get series from Scholastic. Last month I got the first 11 Thirty-Nine clues for $40 (at $10 a book it's a bargain). This week we got the first 44 Magic Treehouse books for $70. Looks pricey, but each book is usually $6. I'd like to say we have a lot of books but at the speed Sabrina reads...
