So far an amazing birthday weekend! Today didn't disappoint. Everyone had trouble getting out of bed, us because of last night supper, the kids because they went to bed past their 7:30pm bedtime. While being babysat (kidsat is how Mathieu puts it, not liking the term BABYsat), Sabrina lost a tooth.
Nevertheless we got dressed and went skiing in St-Bruno. I'll be honest it wasn't the best, there were a lot of people and the snow was rough and heavy. Still it's always fun to be out.

Next we drove to Knowlton to go on a birthday sleigh ride hosted by Gail and David, friends of Sophie and Nick, absolutely great and delightful people. Love them. It was immensely relaxing to be outside with the people you love. We had a great time.
It was so great. Again, thanks Gail and David. Afterwards we went to Nick and Amy's place for a nice supper. When I was asked what I would like to eat for my birthday supper I said I wanted Mexican food like burritos and the like. Well...
How can I describe it...
I can't!
It was just... wow!
Suzanne and I have become foodies in the past few years, enjoying going to restaurants (with known Chefs) and trying it food, rating it, pairing it with the right wine. We usually do this with our friends Kim and Pascal. In our conversations we'll use terms like ok, good, balanced, normal, excellent... When a plate is amazing, we call it a wow. These outings can get very expensive. But it's an experience. Well tonight was a foodie experience. And there were some wow's.

Chocolate Rhum cake anyone? Excellent, btw |
And I'm missing the amazing corn bread. Amy, you went above and beyond, like, infinity and beyond. But that's not all. There was also a piñata, and a mariachi band.
I'm about to wack the piñata. |

One thing you have to understand: The piñata and the maracas were handmade. Ok guys, just wow. Check out the maracas...
They're absolutely beautiful. I'd like to give a big thanks and love to my family. You guys are just the best.
Needless to say, we came back home and I lied down with the kids (Sabrina was cold). I don't think I stayed awake more then a minute. Sabrina went downstairs and passed out right away in front of the tube. Mom said she had one of her best sleep ever.
A great sleep is a sign of a great day.
BTW Thanks to CJAD for the free supper. Really appreciated guys!
