Cheap Cheap

My good friend Dany is acting in this Web series called "Cheap Cheap". He's Carl, the awkward assistant manager of Cheap Cheap who has very week social skills (that's from the bio). The show sounds like it's going to be like The Office, but in a dollar store.

We have to watch it. I need a funny show in my life and that sounds about right. Let's viral this show.

Some Serious Tubing

This Saturday we went out to do some serious tubing at the Glissades des Pays d'en Haut with the Prahacs-Roy family. It's the second time we go there in as many years and we had a great time. Except for the Vortex360.  Sabrina stayed home to study.

Afterwards, we all went to Scores in Boucherville (after picking up Sabrina). It was almost a Tendres de Poulet night.

I know it's very fuzzy, but it's just to show that Sabrina really was there.

Christmas and a bit of sliding

Like every Christmas morning we got up relatively early to open presents. The rest of the day was spent doing mild chores and relaxing.

Had to do some shoveling, of course.

To end the day with a bang, we all went sliding. It was a wonderful relaxing day.

All in all we had a great day.

Party with friends

It was supposed to be a small celebration with a few glasses of Champagne, it turned out to be a full-blown cocktail evening. It was really fun. And perhaps one of the best cocktails ever: The Right Word, from Fairmount Hotels.

Fantastic Christmas Party

On Sunday our friend group had probably the best Christmas party ever. Pictures cannot entirely describe the fun we had. The kids had a cookie baking contest, and the adults had a cocktail contest.

Movie and Friends

Today we went to see the movie "Despicable Me 2" with Chloe, Ben, Kate and Kim. Even though I was quite tired and almost felt like sleeping, the movie was quite enjoyable.

Afterwards we came back to Kim and Pascal's place for a supper invite. The girls spent a lot of time in the pool, the boys doing what boys do and the parents got to enjoy an excellent meal with fantastic company. We had a great evening.

Mathieu adores Ben. To him, Ben is his best friend forever.

A little dark cloud... Poor Mathieu had a virulent headache and needed aspirins to get to sleep. Poor little guy. But he had A LOT of fun.

Pool Party
Thank you Kim and Pascal for having us for a pool party. The kids had a great time, swam a lot and played a lot. I should have had my phone at the pool though ;)

Girl with peanut allergy dies after taking bite of treat at California summer camp
"A 13-year-old girl with a peanut allergy died at a popular family summer camp in Sacramento after taking a bite of a Rice Krispies treat.

Natalie Giorgi died Saturday at Camp Sacramento after eating the snack, which had peanuts, even after her parents administered multiple doses of medicine, the Sacramento Bee reported.

A family friend told the Bee that Giorgi was diligent about her allergy, and spit out the treat right away after tasting peanuts."

I think about this every single day. Sabrina's disease is no joke (though some have treated it as such) and has more chances then most kids I know of being alive a minute, and dead the other. Furthermore, the epipen may not work. Any food she eats may be tainted. My heart is with Natalie Giorgi's family.

Oscar Everest Vamos Darwish
My friend Stephanie and her wife Jo welcomed their first son in this world today. I only met Stephanie a few times but at the 48h Tremblant I liked her right away: very competitive and very nerdy (look at the cool name). Congrats to both.

Family Past
Here is a picture of my mom when she was 7 years old. "Tu vois ma mère ne s'est vraiment pas occupé de moi dans un sens, elle me donnait ce que je voulait et comme je lisais beaucoup et j'avais beaucoup d'idées j'ai commencé jeune à me débrouiller et à Mtl c'est tellement facile tu as tout a porté de ta main, ma mère a voulu faire de moi un petit chien savant pourquoi je sais pas (c.était l'époque Shirley Temple et elle me coiffait comme elle)  à trois ans je prenais des cours de diction, et elle m'amenait à la piscine,au cinéma, j'ai vu tous les fims au Lowes, apres les cours de dance elle travaillais fort pour mon côté artistique, mais le sport, je passait mes été à la piscine et au  tennis, et à 10 ans j'allais magasiner dans'' l'ouest'' (pour moi c'est la définition des quartiers). Morgan, Eaton, etc j'allais retrouver Gisele qui travaillait chez Birks."

BBQ at Donna's and Sylvain's

Today was spent outside and in the pool, even if it was not as nice as yesterday. In the evening we went to have a BBQ at Donna's and Sylvain's who live a few houses down the road. The kids play so well together. Lea and Daphnee often come get Sabrina and Mathieu to play with them during the day. It's like when I was young and all the neighbourhood kids would get together during Summer time.

We had an excellent time.

Ski Day; Dinner with Friends

Today we went skiing while Suzanne stayed home working at her new job. We arrived early enough for us to do a few runs before the kids began their ski lessons.

I skied a bit during the lessons but I was cold. I decided to have a beer at the ski restaurant while waiting for the lessons to finish.

We were invited for dinner at Julie and Charles's place at night. They are Emily's parents, Mathieu's "girlfriend". We had a great time, and were introduced to a super good wine that's relatively cheap. You can see that Mathieu and Emily spent a lot of time together.

Now this is good wine, for a bit more then $25.

Weekend at the cottage

We spent the weekend at Kim and Pascal's chalet in Cottage Country. A long drive for sure, but so worth it with great friends, good food and awesome wine. Thanks for having us guys.
