It's another PED day in the Giroux family. This morning, both Sabrina and Mathieu are off. Mathieu should have gone to the Baobab this afternoon but it would not have been a real PED day for him if he had done so, so I'm keeping him here.
Now it's a PED day so naturally the kids were up and jumping around before our normal 6:00am wake up call. I had barely walked down the stairs that Mathieu wanted to go play outside. Yet for me it's one of those mornings where I just can't wake up quickly.
How do you say "bamboozled?"
Sabrina: "Papa, can I play computer"
Me: "Let me think about it"
Sabrina: "C'mon, please"
Me: "Maybe you could go play outside"
Mathieu, arriving: "Daddy, who's day is it?"
Each kid has a day when she or he is first. Since Sabrina was born on an odd day, she gets the odd days. Mathieu, born on an even day, gets the even day. Suzanne and I get the 31s. This way it's fair for everyone when it comes to know who gets to do what first. So since it's the 24th, it's Mathieu's day.
Me: "It's your day Mathieu"
Mathieu: "So that would mean I'm first on the computer?"
Me: "Yes."
Mathieu: "Come Sabrina, I'll play a two players game with you."
And they leave.
As you can see, snow angels are popular this year.
This is part of my "go play outside" philosophy.
We're back from our annual visit to the Montreal Biodome. Being "friends of the insectarium", we get to go in for free in November. It's always quite pleasant.
