Chut! Boston, Lego Store, Boston Aquarium

Everyone is sleeping this morning. It's 6:25:02 and there's nary a sound in the house. Quite pleasant actually. Too bad I have to wake up the crew as today is a big day: we're taking Suzanne to her Harvard course in Boston.

We were originally going to leave quite early to make it there before noon, to be able to walk around but we just couldn't miss going to give our condolences to Gen (and dad and sister) whose mother's wake was held in Magog.

We made it to Boston around 3:00pm, just in time to spend a few hours at the Boston aquarium. I've been going there religiously every second year for the past thirty years. It hasn't changed, and I still like it.

Here are some pictures:

Suzanne's favorite, I believe (and a dangerous one too)

A dragon fish, I think. Really cool looking animal, my third favourite

Mathieu made a friend

The seahorse, my second favourite

We took a walk around Faneuil Hall, waiting for our table to be freed. We were so hungry, however, that we showed up 45 minutes early at Legal Sea Food.

If it's not fresh, it's not Legal. That said, it was not that good. Quality has left the building. It used to be so good, now it's so ordinary. My tuna was too cooked, and Suzanne's meal was ok. We expected more.

We left downtown Boston for Burlington to the Lego store. Now I can only say good things about the store. The stuff is great, the people are amazing and the associates went above and beyond to help us. Case in point, for $10 someone can build 3 minifigs out of 1000's of pieces. We didn't know that, and as we walk around Mathieu keeps picking pieces from the floor. Then at one point he goes to see a clerk (Ed) and tells him that someone made a mess and he helped clean it up. Ed was so nice, he told Mathieu to go and build himself a minifig, for free. Furthermore, if we bought for $75 or more (we bought for $80) we could get one Star Wars lego minifig, a C-3P0 lookalike. Because I have two kids, we were given two. Just amazing service, everything to make the kid happy, and a loyal customer for life.

Building 3 minifigs each
All in all I love Boston. Honestly, I would move there if I could.
