3 Cheers

I'm a strong believer in going "above and beyond" the requirements, may it be in what you do, things you get and places you go. That there's beauty in things you see, and things you don't. That if you're building something, that even the hidden parts should be well done and nice. I try to teach this to my kids.

Every week in English Sabrina must right three sentences using one word out of a list of 10-12 of the words of the week. To go above and beyond I told her you should write more sentences and use ALL the words in the list, which she has since the beginning of the year.

Well yesterday it paid off. Sabrina got a "3 Cheers" for her extra effort. We're so proud.

Goosebumps; 3D

Sabrina is reading Goosebumps. I can't wait to see how fun it's going to be to put her to bed tonight. "It's not even scary" she claims. She's 20% in the book, The Dead House. Yes, right.

Here are Emily and Mathieu after pre-K

Today Mathieu and I went to Ikea to get a bookcase and an umbrella for our table outside. Guess what he found at the restaurant ?

I had to put a kid seat in the front on the way back because of the size of the boxes. Mathieu sat in front on the way to get Sabrina, and Sabrina on the way home.

While Mathieu liked it, Sabrina was just, wow, I feel like I'm in a 3D world.

We ended the day in the pool :)

Thunderstorms

I was awaken at 4:45am with the distant sound of thunder. Mathieu was beside me, having woken up a few hours ago and not being able to sleep. I could hear Sabrina's soft snore in the other room. My thoughts went to the awning and the open windows. I checked the weather on my iPhone. Severe thunderstorms and strong winds, with maybe some grail. I had no choice, I had to get up once again to close the windows and the awning. Thunder getting stronger I decided to wake Sabrina, make her pee, then have her sleep the rest of the morning beside her brother in the master bed. We had learned at the Boston Museum of Science's Electric Show that going to the bathroom during a thunderstorm was not a good idea. I tucked a pillow at the foot of the bed and sat watching the lightning, listening. The previous storm had been silent yet alive with an incessant lighting show. This one was dull but noisy. In some way more terrifying.
