It's nippy this morning. Even the mouse is cold. And we're going skiing today. To mont St-Garceau. Up North. Two hours away. It's okay though we're going to have fun. Sabrina starts the day with a book, of course.

We get on the road about 8:00am, all anxious to be there. Passed Laval we start hearing the "Are we there yet?" and "Is it far?" but it's okay, we're on our way to ski on a hill that's twice the size of Mont St-Bruno, in St-Donat. We'll get there two hours later.

It's actually a nice little mountain. While the cold is bitter it's still livable and the first down is really nice, with both kids skiing down very steep hills like pros. From on top of the mountain we can see the beautiful lake whose name escapes me right now...

It's amazing how skewed the pictures are. On the last one, on top of the red line we can see the lake which from our vantage point was really low. Nice view.

On the second down, halfway through, Sabrina started complaining that she was not feeling well. Because Mathieu needed to move, he and Suzanne continued to the chalet while I stayed with Sabrina, waiting for her to get better.

She got worst.

She had nausea so we got close to the tree line just to make sure she didn't throw up on the middle of the slope. She was feeling so sick that...

... yup, she got a free ride down the mountain in a sleigh. It took her a while to get better at the infirmary but a good dose of oxygen and a good sleep in the car and she's now 120%.

The ski monitors were very nice, both were from Montreal skiing with their kids while helping others on the mountain. They helped Sabrina a lot, plus she was also examined by a doctor. We don't know what happened, but it's very similar to when she gets a wiff of peanut dust or something like that. Goes from happy to sick and tired in a few moments, then feels like throwing up.

Four hours of driving... two runs down the mountain.

These holidays we've found a new level of appreciation on how serious Sabrina's condition is.
