Epic End to an Epic Week

Today we say goodbye to a too short vacation in Cottage Country. Thank you so much to Kim, Pascal and kids for the great times, good food, amazing wines and fantastic company. The vacation ended with an epic battle.

A bit of this, a lot of that.

Today almost everyone went on a canoe ride across the lake while Suzanne and I relaxed at the chalet. There is something to say to be alone in the middle of nowhere.

The night's supper was once again delicious. We also enjoyed a bit of wine, enough perhaps to forget to not cook the peppers with the labels ;)

Another Day in Paradise

You sleep so well in a chalet... We could have stayed there all night.

This is what lunch and dinner looked like. It was so alive, so great...

Mathieu worked on a Lego he named (I don't remember) but he was quite proud of it.

Chalet Day Two -- Total Relaxation

It's fair to say we spent most of our time on or near the water today. I am so appreciative of the opportunity to really get out of ourselves and be free of the day to day worries... We even got out and built a floating wharf for the kids.

Free to roam

Two fish

Who've known each other forever

Mathieu liked the beach a bit more, and was not crazy about the grass in the water

Still managed to have a lot of fun. He loves it here

Relaxation level one...

I'm sure I have a picture like this somewhere from a year ago

It's not a SPA, but it's a close second

Look, no iPads
Here's the raft in the middle of the lake. A bunch of us even went noodling across the bay. My poor Sabrina wanted to make it to the other end but she was shivering to no end and I didn't want her to freeze. Still we had a great time...

The Raft

The Noodles
My two girls in amazing shots.

One of the amazing wines. Kim and Pascal are cooks sublimes.

A week at the cottage

We spent a week at our good (best would better describe it) friend's cottage in Ontario. We've known Kim and Pascal for nearly thirteen years now, and our kids have known each other all their lives. The chemistry is there, the love for food and wine also. I have to admit that it's very one of the most relaxing places I've every been. Would it not be six hours away, it's a place I would consider making mine at some point.

On our way to the chalet

Eating fries from Wes

Wes' makes good fries.

Two families doing groceries together. Check those lists...
First order of business: let's play
While the adults cook.
See what happened tomorrow
