Hey! It's another normal day. Or is it. Sabrina used the toilet upstairs this morning and it was blocked. We were all in the bathroom at the time and I pondered out loud how come that toilet had been giving us problems for the last month. I repeated too the kids that only toilet paper went in the toilet.

"Maybe we flushed one of those" replied Mathieu. Is pointing to an empty toilet paper roll.
"Maybe. Or did it happen?" I just had to ask
"I think it did happen" replied my little guy.
"Who would have flushed that now I wonder" I told him, waiting for him to confess.
"I think it's maman" replied Sabrina.
"Uh?"
"Me?" answered Suzanne, a now that I think about it not so innocent look on her face.
"I'm pretty sure it's maman" answered Mathieu.

If I was playing Clue (actual name; Cluedo), I would say, with a high level of confidence:

"It was Suzanne with the empty toilet paper roll in the upstairs bathroom"

Suzanne?

I came across this neat little gadget that I'd like to get. Don't ask me why. It's called Little Printer from BergCloud.

Check out the video. I know it looks like a waste, but there's something about it.

Now there's another gadget I'd like to have, but it's not as cute. It's really a full computer the size of a credit card, for $35. It's for the hobbyist, for sure, but still, I have my eyes opened for the Raspberry Pi.

That's me when I was about Mathieu's age...

Thanks mom (from her blog). You can clearly see my Tintin collection on top of Santa and the Asterix behind Santa. The old turntable (the red-black-white box) brings in so many souvenirs. It's amazing how much one picture can bring back. Hopefully, this blog will do the same to Mathieu and Sabrina, and maybe even Max a bit.

You know, I always thought cooking a chicken would be the hardest thing to do. Suzanne is so right: little effort, lots of reward. Guess what we're eating tonight.

What do you call it when both your kids call you from their bedroom ay 5:47am, thirteen minutes before official wake up time? What do you call it when you go lie down with them and say "five more minutes kids, five more minutes?" The pre-snooze. Then when 6:00am comes around and my alarm (iPhone) rings, I actually click on the official snooze button to get well-deserve nine minutes of extra sleep. Of course, if you have kids, you know that they're 1) listening to the gurgles in your stomach 2) stating every minute that they're hungry and 3) asking one another not to put their head/hand/foot on their pillow/blanket/head.

I know it's kind of a boring day (you know the rain) and it's just a normal one too. Get up, feed kids, make lunches, wait for Emily, bring Sabrina (and piano) to school, come back, clean, bring Mathieu and Emily to school, work, get Mathieu bring to Baobab, work, get Sabrina (and piano), work, get Mathieu, cook dinner, homework, bath, bed.

It think that sums it up. the picture above describes homework time: Sabrina works, Mathieu plays with Lego. Next year, I expect both to be doing work.

I know I'm a House Elf working on his own startup (www.onehappykid.com) but I do have dreams and expectations. Let me share with you a car that has tickled my sweet spot. The Mercedes SLK. There's just something about it that's telling me that I should soon feint a mid-life crisis to justify...

Don't take me wrong, I'm still smitten by the Volvo XC90. It's so utilitarian though. The car above spells fun. I imagine driving down the highway for a weekend getaway with Sue... I think we'd have fun.

It's a normal Monday. Suzanne gets ready to go to work, Sabrina to school. As you can see below, Suzanne is spending some magical time with her BB :)

With Sabrina in school, Mathieu and I went to visit mom in Knowlton. I spent some time setting up adsense on her blog, and making sure MSN would boot up when the computer did.

Mathieu and the fascinating Russian Doll

A few waffles and two cups of coffee later, Mathieu and I were on our way back home. Thanks mom for the Dragon book.

Talking about the Dragon book, I was wondering about all the textbooks that affected me when I was in school (and a bit beyond, nest-ce pas XP, HTML and Python?). The following books I read more then once from cover to cover. The C Programming Book and Oh Pascal! were the first one I got, the latter in College, the first in university, on my own. I didn't own the Dragon book (Compilers) and another textbook was used for the course, but a friend lent me the red Dragon book for a while I and just ate it. With mom's gift, my collection is back to almost normal (can't find my Bruce Artwick 3d graphic book). I have tons of computer books, but those are the best.

Today was dentist time for the kids. All is good, they are told they brush their teeth really well. Even better, Sabrina yellow stains on her bottom teeth are soft and should be fixed soon. I'm taking an appointment for January.

The kids are pros. It comes from Suzanne, not I. The only negative part about this: Mathieu didn't like the little toy he got. "I got a crappy toy" he states.

Finally we got Sabrina's school picture today. Here's our princess:
