Beaune, Gilly and Meursault

Suzanne and I left our hotel relatively early to visit the beautiful village of Beaune. The little town was visited yesterday afternoon was spectacular but I prefer Beaune. It's alive with people, shoppes, wineries, bistros, bakeries and so much more, yet retains the charm of a small village as it was described to us by our hotelier. Here are a few pics out of the two hundred I took that morning.

We left with Kim and Pascal to  Gilly les Citeaux, about 20 minutes North from Beaune, to have lunch at the chateau. There we met up with their longtime friends Sophie and Olivier. The place was beautiful, the lunch wonderful, especially the escargots.

We then stopped in Meursault at the chateau to visit the wine cellars. Some good tasting happened in those caves, especially when i found an unattended bottle.

We came back to Beaune and all went out to a little bistro for dinner. I had Steak Tartare for the first time and loved it. The red wine was delicious.

It was back to our room for the night.
