Longueuil to Metis-sur-mer: 577 kms |
We begin this vacation with a trip to Metis sur Mer where Mel and Frank are building their new home. On the way we stop at the
Musee Maritime du Quebec in L'islet. We visiited it when Max was ten years old and it was a great place to see. For $12 per adult, and free for kids, it's inexpensive. We didn't have time to see the actual museum part, but we got to go in the ships which is really cool (like the Submarine in Pointe-Aux-Peres).

We visit an ice breaker and a prototype army ship |

We then drove to Mel and Frank's place and had a fun meal in their new home. Though it still needed a kitchen and bathrooms, it looked really nice. After dinner we went down to their current place and took a nice walk on the beach in front of their house. The kids had a great time "rescuing" fish hiding in the sand. There's something about the sea air... There are days I wish I lived on a boat all year long.
All in all a fantastic day.
